The "All Night Pops" were the brainchild of Andy Davies, leader of Northwich and District Youth Centre and organised by him and his staff. I spent my time operating the stage lights from a small balcony in the wings looking down on the occasional band memger carefully preparing a joint or two! My then girlfriend, now wife,Hazel, always worked on the door, protetced and watched over by Stan Garner the chief Bouncer. Come to think of it, the only way to get a drink was to follow a bouncer who was heading to the bar and push through the crowd behind him!
I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic nights, and some of the local bands were very good indeed.
