Information for Venue Staff

What to do when an object gets dropped off.

Plan A
Contact your venue collector to process the object:

Library - Nick Hughes
Memorial Hall - Phil Harding
Weaver Hall Museum - Andrew Davies

Plan B
If they are not about we are eager that we don’t turn people and their objects away so please accept the object and go through the following with the giver. The procedure is as simple as it can be, whilst still ensuring that everyone’s objects are well looked after.
  1. Ask the person to fill in the next object info card in the folder.
  2. Fill in the object receipt and give it to the person.
  3. Ask the person to write a bit about their object on a cabinet card.
  4. Stick a label on the item with its object number on it.
  5. Give the person the key to the cabinet and ask them to take their cabinet card and item and display it in the cabinet.

For more info or queries contact Beth Barlow 0n 07828148123 or bethbarlow@bethbarlow.com or your venue collector.

What to do when the cabinet gets full.

Contact Beth Barlow on 07828148123 or bethbarlow@bethbarlow.com

What is the box for?

As people are loaning their precious items we are conscious that we need to keep them safe. When items are not in the cabinet they will be housed in this box. Please keep it in a secure safe place and let us know if it gets full and you need another box.

What will happen to the items?

Everything is on lone but there will be a day in February where interested archives come to see what they might like in their collections. They will then contact the loaners to see if they would like to donate their items or not.

Any other questions?

Memorial Hall Consultations

Just so you know, the new 'Memorial Court' consultations will be taking place from Wednesday the 12th December 2012. I'll be coming too, so if you want to ask me anything about COLLECT and the public art works I'll be around Thursday afternoon in the hall.

The Morg Night Catching Memories

Many thanks to all those involved in the 60's night and the Morg, Northern Soul night last night for sharing your memories with us. I chatted to folks and wrote bits of what they said on little flags. Loads of great stories and Mods and Rockers "meetings" at the hall and bands people have seen.

First Night At the Memorial Hall

Big thank you to John who allowed me to gatecrash his 50/60's night to chat to people about the past and all the people who gave up time to contribute.

Harking back to the "Cool" Generation with the Memory Chiller

All dressed up as the Memory Chiller and ready to head down to the Memorial Hall to capture memories at the 50's/60's night tonight.
